First place: Panasonic

Panasonic's power batteries are mainly supplied to Tesla, and due to the large battery capacity and high sales of Tesla models, Panasonic remains at the top of the list. Recently, Tesla's Gigafactory has opened, and unsurprisingly, Panasonic will continue to maintain its position as the world leader in power batteries in the coming years. However, Panasonic is now "selling shares to raise funds" for Tesla, which shows that although it appears to be successful on the surface, there are tears underneath!

Second place: BYD

Following winning the top spot in global new energy vehicle sales last year, BYD continued to maintain its position in the first half of the year. From January to June this year, the cumulative sales volume was 43244 vehicles, leading the second ranked Tesla by more than 10000 vehicles. Panasonic's battery production is twice that of BYD, which is also due to differences in vehicle technology. If Qin and Tang continue to sell well with the EV version, it is estimated that BYD will beat Panasonic by the minute.

Third place: AESC

AESC is a joint venture between Nissan and NEC, known as Automotive Energy Supply Corporation (AESC). AESC batteries are mainly installed on the Nissan Leaf and ranked third in global sales in the first half of the year. Due to the limited battery capacity of the Lingfeng, its range has gradually lost competitiveness, resulting in a decline in electric vehicle sales in North America and a lack of dominance compared to previous years.

Fourth place: LG&Sixth place: Samsung

LG Chem ranks fourth, which is actually quite disappointing for LG, and Samsung (ranked sixth). Although these two companies have a wide range of battery powered models, from BMW to Jianghuai, unfortunately their sales are not satisfactory. The battery technology level of these two companies in South Korea is widely recognized in the industry. Unfortunately, the local market is too small, and foreign markets also have protective policies for local brands. Multiple factors have limited the battery production of these two companies.

Fifth place: Beijing Pride

BPP (Beijing Pride) has seen a significant increase in production in the first half of this year, ranking fifth globally. Its sales in the first half of the year have already exceeded those of last year. Plaid batteries are mainly used in some electric vehicles of BAIC, as well as in other popular domestic markets such as electric buses and energy storage.

Seventh place: Wanxiang

Wanxiang Battery mainly acquired A123, and the battery level is still good. It is applied in new energy vehicles of brands such as SAIC. With the implementation of Shanghai's "local policies", SAIC's new energy vehicle sales have surged.

8th place: SK Group

The group is the third largest multinational corporation in South Korea, mainly focusing on two pillar industries: energy and chemicals, and information and communication.

9th place: Mitsubishi's joint venture with GS Yuasa (Yuasa)

The battery products of this joint venture company are mainly used in Mitsubishi series new energy vehicles, among which the Outlander PHEV is very popular in Europe.

Tenth place, Air LithiumBenefiting from the excellent policies related to new energy vehicles in China, AVIC Lithium Battery is mainly used in the field of electric buses. Of course, as a company with a military background, AVIC Lithium Battery can also be seen in aircraft, submarines, and other industries.
